Illuminate Your Path
A new addition is coming to Emerald Heritage - Luxury Candles, Perfume and Perfume Oils!
It brings such joy to create these expressions of my heart and I am elated to share them soon! The first release will be our Luxury Candle line. But before I introduce these, Id like to take a minute to share the elements in each one that mean so much to me and give you an idea of why these products are truly an art of passion.
Ancient Egyptians are said to have believed that perfumery was connected to immortality. And if you think about the power of our olfactory system, the connection is easy to draw. Aroma and scent can enliven neural pathways rendering a transport to a time gone by or help you construct images not yet encountered in physical reality, but guided by aroma, you can see them clearly in your imagination! This, to me, is the spark for inspiration! Think of your experience when you are suddenly greeted by a perfume of a loved one you haven't seen in quite some time. Instantly, you pause and take a deep breath. With that inhale, I would bet you say something like, “Oh this reminds me of …” and right away you are holding an image or feeling of that person in your consciousness. From this perspective, it does feel like your loved one is immortal and embodied in your scent field.
When you inhale a fragrant molecule, it travels to meet receptor cells, or neurons, in your olfactory system where they bind to produce an electrical signal for your brain - light bulb! Not only is this captivating communication a way to speak without words with those around us, it is also a continual flow of stimuli, or a gift, for ourselves. In essence, fragrant molecules, inhaled and interpreted, can help develop neural pathways that expand our intake and experience of our own being.
Perfume is also an undeniable way to create a signature.
If each fragrant molecule can spark a neural pathway then the potential pathways that come from exposing the same molecule to a person’s unique chemical makeup are infinite. By pairing your preference with your body’s natural chemistry your essence can leave a lasting impression long after you even suspect. And while the immediate reference here is to personal perfumes, the same can be said for quantifying the power of the space we call home. Think of fragrance as the scent trail to the place that resonates with how you energize your home space.
…and then there are candles!
As you might imagine, their warmth and ambiance give nuanced vibration to a setting and change a room to a sanctuary with its flame. But even more than the feel and fragrance, I have come to appreciate candles for something altogether more personal.
To truly map out what feels like home to you, we want to go beyond trends and styles in decor. Any place can feel like home when you are able to live in your heart space. And that interpretation of home comes from listening to your true desires. Naturally, meditation plays such a powerful role in setting the energetic tone of home. But, if I’m being honest, getting into a meditative state has become difficult for my racing mind at times. Rather than forcing my way into this state (which we all know is not possible!), I found letting my eyes softly fall on a candle flame, that simultaneously smells amazing, has been a much easier way of relaxing and settling into home. It’s the same hypnotizing comfort that draws people to gather around a campfire, enveloping you in your safe space so you can hear what your heart has to say. It is the process of bringing HOME into yourself.
As I write this, we are getting blanketed in a rare storm of snow for Charleston, SC! School has been cancelled and our golden retriever, Lucky is cozied up on the warm blankets in my bedroom. Every few minutes, my son and I run outside, forgetting that it is COLD to get a shocking blast of winter’s freeze. We’re like little kids running in and out with updates on how much snow will be here by morning! And as you can imagine, our homemade candles are lighting every room for that special touch of magic so that each time we run back into the safety of warmth, our bodies relax and inhale the scent of fresh pine and sweet bergamont. For all of these reasons, and for the feeling of home I love to share - EH will create something beautiful and fragrant for you!
